Join the Emeritus Alumni Board!
Emeritus alumni (those who graduated 40 or more years ago or are age 65 or better) are invited to apply to serve three-year terms on the Emeritus Alumni Board. Board activities are rewarding and offer a unique way to stay connected to the university and other emeritus alums. Board application forms are available here.
The Emeritus Alumni Board members hold positions on several Alumni Association committees and provide other valuable service:
- Coordinate the annual Emeritus reunion
- Sponsor a new annual health talk series
- Select Distinguished and Honorary alumni award recipients for Founders Day
- Designate Merit of Honor recipients
- Lead the football stadium's Alumni Ambassador Program
- Serve as advocates to the Utah Legislature on behalf of the university and higher education in general
- Recruit high school students to the university
- Organize and participate in a variety of community service programs, including tutoring
- Raise funds for scholarships for deserving students
Learn more about some of these projects at the Emeritus community page here.

Board history and service
The Emeritus Alumni Board (originally called “The Half Century Club”) was founded in 1937 at a 50-year reunion of 16 members of the Class of 1887. In 1942 the club’s name was changed to "The Emeritus Club of the Utah Alumni Association," and it was opened to all pre-1892 classes. Each year, a few members leave the board after completing their three-year term and are replaced by the same number of new members. Application forms are available around December each year. Emeritus Board application forms are available here.
